Welcome to Psychiatry!

The care unit belongs to the Psychiatry Psychosis area, focusing on patients with psychotic disorders.

Here, we value the meeting with the patient, allowing time for conversation and reflection.

Ward 241 is a care ward with 16 beds that offers psychiatric specialist care to patients in an acute phase of illness. Each patient is assigned a responsible physician during their stay, who is responsible for investigation and treatment, and a contact person who coordinates care. The unit employs physicians, nurses, nursing assistants, treatment assistants, social workers, pharmacists, and healthcare assistants.

Job Responsibilities

The conversation and meeting with the patient are the most important tools in the work. The initial goal is to create calm and security for the patient. Then, through a person-centered approach, agree on a care plan that includes goals and strategies for treatment and follow-up.

Key elements of this approach include:

• Listening and conveying images of the patient's life situation, abilities, and obstacles.
• Creating trusting relationships that lead to dialogue and collaboration.
• Formulating care plans based on the patient's narrative and involving relatives.

In addition to this, standard psychiatric care, supportive conversations, and motivational interviewing.

About You

We are looking for someone who is:

• Trained nursing assistant.
• Has two years of experience in self-protection within SU.
• Has at least 6 months of experience working in a psychiatric ward focused on patients with psychotic disorders.
• Has in-depth knowledge of psychotic disorders.
• Has good language skills, both in Swedish and another European language.

You have a genuine interest in human interactions and are driven by the desire to help others. Our patients' realities are often not the same as your own, and you must be able to show judgment, be clear, and strive to reach the patient. Personal suitability is considered.
